Goddam, I'm not exactly sure where to start. It's been quite a few
weeks since I dropped in. Most of that time was spent getting this
new site here together (hope ya dig!), plotting the attack for my CD
release shows, and preparing for the big trip out to San Fran and the
California coast. Now I sit here, with all of those things behind
me...and even less words to formulate the last few whirlwind weeks of my
life. Well OK, I'm sure there'll be no shortage of words here...just
not confident they'll be the right ones or do justice to how happy and
grateful I'm feeling.
One thing I know for sure - I am one lucky sunofabitch. I
have an unbelievable life, and the most amazing family and friends a guy
could ask for.
I need to thank my amazing band (Rob, Adam, Caroline, Dean, Alex, &
Marlon), and everyone who came out to support the release of my new CD
"Tiny Increments." Thank you all so much. You helped to make
these release shows in Midland and Toronto some of the warmest and best
gigs I've ever played. No kidding. I want to thank the lovely
Good Lovelies and
kickass Rob Szabo for
opening up the Toronto and Midland shows respectively. The vibe of
the entire night started out on the right foot because of your wonderful
music and performances. Rob, I hope your east coast tour is going
well. Kerri, Sue, & Caroline...can't wait to do it all over again in
Montreal this weekend! Woo-hoo!
I had a whole amazing team of people doing amazing things which helped me
so much along the way. Stacey (love!), Colin, Cat & Sam, my trusty
soundmen Robin (Toronto) and Bob (Midland), Kelly, Emma, Gaby, Greg &
Johnny @ Supermarket, Ray & Rita @ The Studio Theatre, Christian, Sean, Kari & Lisa
...you all are my heroes!! Special thanks to Scott L and Bob K for
helping with security in Toronto. Certainly some interesting people
out in the city last Thursday.
A big shout-out to Donna and Lee who came from far, far away to see the
show. Darryl, Trevor, and Tracey for being so hardcore too.
Wow. Gold stars for all of you. Hell, you get green clovers,
purple horseshoes...all of me lucky charms!!
Much thanks to those of you who bought CD's...I really hope you're digging
the new record. To those of you who came to BOTH the Midland and
Toronto shows. WOW. You guys rule. Sorry you had to hear
"The Soap Story" twice. Heh, there's only so much
good material kicking around in my tiny brain.
Well I guess I've written so much I won't get onto the trip stuff now.
I'll save it for another entry. If you've read this far without
falling asleep, you are hardcore.
In the meantime, there's all kinds of pictures and videos from the shows popping up on
Facebook and
YouTube if you want to
check out what you missed, or get a nice reminder of last week's good
times. I'm going through a lot of stuff people have sent me, and
will post up here ASAP.
I am a happy boy. Thank you all for making me feel this way.
Open to Terry Fox: Terry Fox, I didn't mean those things I said
about you late, late, late on Saturday night. I couldn't help it, I
was drunk. Drunk on love. You are still the greatest Canadian
alive. Wait? What? You're not alive, Terry Fox?
Forget it, I take back my apology.
Sorry you had to witness that people. That friggin' Terry Fox,
always getting my rig in a bunch.
Much Love & Stuff;
COOP
