NOW PLAYING:
New Buffalo - Somewhere, Anywhere

Well kids,
another summer is just about gone. Well, I shouldn't say that.
What's truly left of it, is what you make of it. My plan is to
stretch it out to November. Take that for what it's worth...'cos I'm
also the same guy whose plan it was to eat half a burrito I found in a
garbage can behind the studio.
Things in these parts have been insane as of late. In a good way,
though. I'm on my way out to travel around San Francisco and the
California coastline for 10 days. So I've been crunching in all
these tasks and things I need to do before I can split. Wish I could
say more, but the Pacific surf beckons. I'll tell ya all about it
when I'm home. If I come home!
By the time I get back, me and the band will be in rehearsal mode for the
big CD release shows in Toronto (09/13), Midland (09/15) and
Montreal (09/22). I'm more excited than a puppy with two
peters, I tellyawhut.
Hey, if you didn't catch the news on the way in, my new CD "Tiny
Increments" is now available for sale at
iTunes. So for those of you
interested in owning a digital copy of the record, or those that can't
wait for a physical copy (not until 09/13/07) you may head on over and
hook it up NOW. A full 2 weeks before the actual release date!!!
Holy wah! That's the kind of special treatment you get over here at
SC Headquarters. Remember that when I'm homeless, smelling of pee,
but in desperate need of your help. "2 weeks early...2 weeks!"
I will plea!
BUY "TINY INCREMENTS" from iTunes NOW!
Initial feedback for the record has been overwhelmingly positive. In
fact, it's been so good that my friend Kevin is considering printing off "F.U-S.C"
t-shirts to give out at the shows in order to take me down a few pegs.
I understand. He doesn't want it going to me head, you see.
It's not, I promise. I just really want to share this music with all
of you. I cannot wait.
So things will be quiet for another week and a bit, then this website and
all kinds of media outlets will explode with excitement!! And I mean
"explode with excitement" in a non-pornographic way. Kinda
like when someone says "cock-fighting", it's near impossible not to
think of a couple dirty cocks wriggling around, using their pecker to win
some nice illegal cash for their proud owner. Try
it at home, you'll see.

NOW PLAYING:
Ron Leary - The Road In Between

I just had one of those
V8
moments -- a solid 'thud' from an open-palm smack to one's own forehead when a realization of error
sets in.
I've been chucking my disc out there to various press
outlets etc, and as reviews and feedback roll in, it's amazing to read
people's insights into what I've spent the better part of the last year or
so doing.
As most of you now know, the album is called "Tiny Increments".
Until you hear it, and spend some quality time with the stories and the
puzzles, you won't know exactly why that is. But for the Coles Notes
version, the title track of the record is what offers the most obvious
clues and could most easily bring you up to speed about the whole concept.
At least enough to make you think a little differently about things on the
next listen, anyway.
So when a particular review pointed out some
fascination with the message of that title track, it made me pick up the
lyric book and dig on their nifty interpretation of the lyrics.
And then I realized. "hey, where are the lines for the bridge?"
Turns out,
I somehow neglected to put those words into the lyric booklet that comes with the
CD (sorry downloaders). Oh man (insert V8 smack)! For a
minute there, it really bummed me out. I
looked over that thing 50 times to make sure it was solid, no spelling
mistakes etc. before I sent it off to be pressed.
Seriously, no set of lines on the entire album (or any lines I've ever
written for that matter) sum up my frame of mind these days than that bridge section.
So in a way, it's got me wondering if on some level I may have done it on
purpose? The more I think about it, the more I realize it's kind of
a cool mistake. If I had to make one on the booklet, at least this
one mystifies things a little more. It's not
like a misspelled a word. I didn't use a contraction incorrectly.
The lines from the bridge just aren't there. Vamoose.
It kinda reminds me of the time when I was little and my brother and I
would play that awesome game Mouse Trap. Or was it Hungry,
Hungry Hippos? I can't remember now. Boy, those hippos
sure were hungry.
